In Memoriam: Dark Reading’s Tim Wilson

In shocked shock and excellent grief, we report the death of our good friend and associate Tim Wilson, co-founder and editor-in-chief of cybersecurity news website Dark Reading. Wilson passed away late Nov.23 He was 59.

Dark Reading (a sis website of InformationWeek) was born at a time when couple of individuals understood what “cybersecurity” was. In those early days, Wilson covered groundbreaking research study such as the late Dan Kaminsky’s discovery of the DNS cache-poisoning defect, and drew out amusing security-themed blog sites as “ Tim the Enchanter” A curious and innovative editorial service leader, with an undeviating dedication to journalistic stability, Wilson assisted Dark Reading to its 15 th anniversary.

Most notably, Tim Wilson was kind. He provided of his time, even when he didn’t have any to spare. He understood precisely what motivating sports heroes to reference when somebody required a self-confidence increase. He was genuinely among this editor’s preferred individuals.
