The Federal Executive Council, commanded by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday authorized agreements worth N274 bn for tasks in the Ministry of Works and Housing, and the Federal Capital Territory.
The council likewise authorized the facility of the Federal University of Health Sciences and the raising of a costs for the enactment of the Civil Defense, Corrections, Fire, Immigration Services Board.
Also authorized was the payment of N895 m to Pearl Consultants for the guidance of a Rivers roadway job.
The ministers of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; FCT, Mohammed Bello; Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; and the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, offered a breakdown of the approvals throughout a rundown with State House reporters, soon after the virtual FEC conference.
Fashola stated his ministry provided 2 memoranda, both of which were authorized by the council.
According to him, FEC authorized the visit of specialists to monitor the continuous building of the Bodo-Bonny Highway in Rivers State, and the building of the Idah-Nsukka Road, connecting Kogi and Enugu states, putting the expense of both tasks at N2707 bn.
He stated, “On behalf of the Ministry of Works and Housing, I provided 2 memoranda to the council, the very first was to designate the specialist to carry out the guidance consultancy for the building and construction of the Bodo-Bonny Road and bridge, which was formerly granted by the council.

” The 2nd memorandum was for the award of the agreement for the rehab of the Idah-Nsukka Road, an 84- kilometreroad connecting Kogi and Enugu states which Council authorized for the amount of N2617 bnin favour of a joint endeavor of Messrs. Sajeto Construction and Registered Nurse Construction,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the FCT minister, Bello, stated his ministry got approval for the procurement of a light-duty towing truck for N286,302,27750
He stated, “This truck is implied to enhance and contribute to the fleet of cars that the directory site has so that it can improve our activities of hauling cars from mishap scenes and when they are taken.
” This agreement has actually been granted to a business called CIF Global Services Limited, at an overall agreement amount of N286,302,27750, with a conclusion duration of 8 weeks,” Bello stated.
