In the last two years, flexible smartphones have been gaining popularity with more companies starting to develop more creative form factors. Earlier in March, the OPPO X 2021 rollable phone was released and became the company’s first flexible device. Now according to AndroidHeadlines, it seems that OPPO has filed a new patent for this feature.
The source photos show that this new smartphone has a square shape that extends vertically to get a slim rectangular shape; compared to the previous OPPO rollable phone that extended sideways to get a more conventional tablet design.
So now you will get a smaller form factor that looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G. But where it differs, is that the new OPPO rollable phone would give you better functionality when the phone isn’t extended. Therefore, you can still send messages, watch videos or scroll through social media without the full display.
However, it is important to note that all information about this OPPO rollable phone are rumors, and all photos shown are just patent images. So be sure to look out for more updates on the device from us.
