The DGA recognizes best practices among Local Government Units (LGUs) in utilizing the Information Communication Technology (ICT) “to efficiently deliver its public services directly to its constituents and its business stakeholders.”

Manila’s Division of City Schools (DCS) received the “Best in Customer Empowerment Award” for its digital initiative known as Learners Information for Education (LIFE) Connection for Inclusion 2.0. This award recognizes the LGU’s practices using ICT solutions in providing “improved, timely, and relevant delivery of public services” to its constituents.

To note, the city government has distributed tablets for students, laptops for teachers; and bandwidth for students and teachers since 2020.

The Manila Health Department and Sta. Ana Hospital also bagged the “Best in LGU Empowerment Award” for launching the COVID-19 Testing Center Web Laboratory Information System.

The city’s Go Manila App – handled by the Bureau of Permits and License Office, Electronic Data Processing Office, and Special Projects — won 2nd place for the “Best in Business Empowerment Award”.

The Go Manila App is the official mobile application of the nation’s capital, which provides fast and convenient access to the services offered by the city government.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso expressed his gratitude to the said departments that received the awards during his capital report on Friday, Oct. 29.

“Congratulations, team Manila! Sa mga batang Maynilang nanonood (To the children of Manila who are watching), this is for you. Unti-unting at patuloy na kinikilala ng mundo, ng national government, ng malalaking organisasyon ‘yung pag sisinop natin, ‘yung pagsisikap natin, ‘yung pagiging episyente natin (Steadily, the world, the national government and big organizations are recognizing our concern, efforts, and efficiency),” Domagoso said.
